It's Sugaring Time in Vermont


I like this old photo. I found it in southern Vermont a few years ago. That's probably a sugar shack in the back of the photo,(I added a note) but even if it's not, the landscape looks like March - sugaring time. (Maple Syrup.)
Right now the sap is flowing well. It needs cold nights and warm days (relatively warm, 30s and 40s) for optimum flow, and that's what we're getting.
Tomorrow, I'm doing a maple sugar theme at the library Story Hour. I'll finish by giving them tiny dixie cups of maple syrup to dip their graham crackers in.
Mmmmm. Pure gold.
