Photograph found in the Halkard/Grimshaw album of my husband's G Grandmother. On the Back: Morton Artistic Photographers, 75 Westminster St. Providence, R.I. This is most likely the Marie Hague who was born in Providence Rhode Island in 1892. Her relationship to the family is unknown. Written on the back in very faint pencil: Baby Marie Hague 12 y Sept 22 13 ( and then some indecipherable marks.)

This is one of a series of Joan (later Joanne) taken on the same day. Joanne always disliked these pictures. She came down with a bad case of mumps later that day and remembered feeling terrible during the photo session. She also always thought she looked like a chipmunk because her cheeks were already swollen. I still think it's very cute.
