Man and His Man, Bawden Rocks (I'm sure he does - rude not to!), Cow and Calf. The three names used for that pair of rocks.
St Agnes Head, Cornwall.

I'd not heard this version before. It's superb. If you've got the patience, it's worth a listen.

... or Bawden Rocks, or Cow and Calf. These islets haven't got any kind of settled name.
Nothing to do with this photo whatsoever but I just felt like (on a whim) honouring John Lee Hooker!

Cornish coast. Pentire Head in the distance, where Pat 29 is at the moment I think!
"HELLO, PAT - CAN YOU HEAR ME!!!!!!" ?
Man and his Man is a strange but intriguing name for these islands. I don't know its origins. The Ordnance Survey just didn't like it (bless them) and so found an alternative name (one not used locally of course!) and so you find 'Bawden Rocks' as their name on all the official maps instead. (Yawn)

It is a fun and fairly easy walk down the steep slope, from right to left, to the headland. It's a bit of a slog on the way back though! (Although far worse for me when I used to smoke!).

South West Peninsula Coast Path in the St Agnes area.
Man and His Man seen offshore and gorse and heather of course in the foreground. A wetter year in 2011 than 2018 (though not by much) and a better floral show.

The fierce and long early summer heatwave led to a waning of the floral display earlier than normal. But it could still produce a pleasing, if muted, show in places!

Newdowns Head and Man and His Man, Cornwall.
The conical grids are to stop humans and large animals falling down these tin mine shafts and to allow the free to-ings and fro-ings of the many bats that colonise them.
H. A. N. W. E. everyone!

Granite, lichen and stonecrop, looking out from the top of St Agnes Head towards the twin isles of Man and His Man, or Bawden Rocks as preferred by the O. S.
Apologies everyone. I see that I also posted this only a month ago but such are the lovely comments I have decided to keep both.

From above St Agnes Head. The islands are named Bawden Rocks on Ordnance Survey maps but traditionally known as Man and His Man, a much better name I feel!
