Waiting for my train back to Bristol Airport. I should have saved this for a Friday but never mind!
www.youtube.com/watch?v=kJtBWJS0v7s This just amused me. Sight and Sound.

Carn Brea Castle / restaurant. I possibly posted a similar shot before, or it may have been on Panoramio, but I felt it was odd enough to be worth another shot!
Sight and Sound. A much underrated singer: Eric Burdon and War: www.youtube.com/watch?v=AbuIjsw2gX0 With this song, funk and laid- backness combine beautifully (imho!)
Basset Monument, Carn Brea.

Monument erected in 1836 in memory of Francis Basset, First Baron de Dunstaville, an influential mine owner. Paid for by public subscription by legions of grateful miners (or so they say - I have my doubts that ANY mine owner would have been that beloved by his serfs / minions / slaves!).
Perhaps marginally better on large for stonework detail.

Neolithic property - foreground, medieval hunting lodge behind. Modern industrial and residential complex on the plain below.
The sea at Porthtowan can be clearly seen too.
Happy Easter everyone!

in Pink Moors, Vogue, St Day. No longer a creamery but they still milk their cows here. The market for Cornish clotted cream is dominated by Rodda's, just up the road in Scorrier. I don't know but this farm's milk possibly goes there for processing.
I like their yellow door!

I quite like the mix of functionality and the striving for just a little bit of something more in terms of art here. I find this in many parts of this former tin mining town and hope to show more as and when.
Maybe worth a look at some of the detail on large.

Carn Brae, Redruth, Cornwall.
(One of the very few photos of Cornwall not previously uploaded on ipernity. I did post a few of these on Pano which one or two of you may remember.)

A favourite pub at one time. My then girlfriend and I played many a fierce game of scrabble in there!
She was also a great Rod Stewart fan.

Carn Marth Open Air Theatre.

A disused granite quarry and an ideal open air theatre location. I was supposed to see a performance of A Midsummer Night's Dream here; my girlfriend at the time had got the tickets free as she was a sister of one of the performers. Sadly, I developed a tooth absess that day and was in too much pain to attend. :o(
