We found these in Brooks Memorial State Park and were excited about finding them. A week later we found them growing in the fields near our home.

These are all wildflowers we photographed in Brooks Memorial State Park. We were traveling from the central Cascades down through Yakima to the Columbia River gorge and stopped to spend part of a day hiking and exploring Brooks Memorial, a wonderful place for wildflowers.

The flowers of the Tapertip Onion vary in color from white to a deep rose. These were photographed in Brooks Memorial State Park in Washington.

We stopped in Brooks Memorial State Park near Goldendale, Washington, recently on our way to the Columbia River Gorge and photographed some of the wildflowers there. This is the Heartleaf Buckwheat.

These White Bog Orchids were photographed at Brooks Memorial State Park near Goldendale, Washington. We spent part of a day there hiking and looking for wildflowers and orchids as we traveled south to the Columbia River gorge.

I believe these are Callippe Fritillaries. We photographed them along a stream in Brooks Memorial State Park near Goldendale, Washington.

We looked for Ladies' Tresses Orchids along this stream at Brooks Memorial State Park but did not find any. We found a lot of other wildflowers, however, and could see Mount Hood in Oregon from the area where this stream was flowing.

On our recent trip through Washington, Oregon and California we spent our first night in Blewett Pass south of Leavenworth, Washington, and spent some time in that area the next morning before traveling south through Yakima to the Columbia River Gorge. Before reaching the gorge we spent some time in Brooks Memorial State Park where we hunted for orchids and other wildflowers and did some hiking. This is Mount Hood (in Oregon) from one of the trails.
