This was painted with a very old technique called tempera. The old masters painted with this paint as they painted on wooden pannels. Tempera is a white paint (blanc de titane) mixed with a yellow of an egg. The yellow of the egg was used to stick the paint on wood. It is a very difficult technique to learn and I was given lessons from the school of the painter Fuchs. He is a very famous Austrian artist and has his studio where I live near Menton. The idea is to use a very dark background and use tempera ( which is white) to draw on the background and use the paint to give a 3 dimensional look. Once thats done, one has to use thin layers of oil on the white paint. This gives the true colour to the surface and two colours are never mixed together. Then you continue to build up the painting by using one layer of tempera and one layer of oil, until it is finished. This was done after my visit to Florida as it is the view I saw every evening where I lived. This technique is very good to give a lot of space to the painting, good for relections of water and for atmosphere.
As the sky was interesting, the sky line is low to give more importance to the sky. The grey sky was done to give light to the sun going under the clouds. I liked these colours of grey and orange, yellow which harmonizes with the dark brown foreground of the wooden house. The palm tree of course is the main attraction in the foreground.

Is it too complicated Bengt? What do you mean in several parts? Do you mean several discussions, or in different paragraphs?
