Group: Bees, Bzzz, Bees !

Hi Pam, Thanks for linking to this article, it is very interesting. There is a lot of research the last few years about declining bee population but sadly still no conclusive data about CCD (colony collapse disorder). However, scientists do know about bee sensitivity to chemicals and some countries are taking action on this. The European Union has banned three neonicotinoid pesticides linked to bee decline and they are urging other countries to do the same. (see my link to the article in an earlier posting). Recently another chemical Fipronil has been identified as causing bee death. Read more at:

It is heartening to see not only awareness of but action being taken on this issue.
