Thoughts on the June 4 E3 conferences

So I caught a little bit of the E3 conferences yesterday (mostly Ubisoft's and Sony's).
Much of what I saw from Ubisoft didn't get me very hyped for anything. At first, when they introduced Watch Dogs I thought it looked like it was going to be the latest walking-around-town simulator, but by the end I was intrigued and is the game that stuck out for me the most out of everything I saw (from all the presenters). It seems like it will be fairly original, and it's nice to see developers put some effort into their ideas these days.
In related news, I did hear that a new Star Wars game was coming out called 1313. I admit, I'll probably be looking in to this one, but here's an example where I've seen lots of complaints that it's not the latest sequel in an already established franchise like Battlefront. I love the Battlefront games, but I have the Battlefront games; I'm okay with LucasArts wanting to try to develop something new... well not really new, 'cause it's still Star Wars, but at least not just making another sequel.
And speaking of sequels, God of War Ascension is on the way. That's good I guess. If I get it, I'm sure I'll have fun playing it, but you know... it's God of War. Even a series as excellent as that, after already playing 5 titles in the series I'm not sure how they're going to dazzle me. Sure, sure, they put in those reversing/freezing time feature thingy in there, which looked like a combination of elements from Prince of Persia and Ratchet & Clank: A Crack in Time, but I don't know if that will be enough to replicate the awe I've experienced with some of the previous titles.
As for the other highlights, well, I'm not much into survival horror, sports, or dance games. I've never played an Assassins Creed game (just haven't gotten around to it yet) and there was no wishes granted due to the lack of news on the Last Guardian or teasers for a Beyond Good & Evil 2 (and suggestions that it won't happen this gen). So like I said, not a lot of hype for me.
But whatever did catch my eye is irrelevant when Always-On DRM enters the room. One day I may have no choice, but right now I'm not interested in getting any game that sports this "feature" (which hopefully is absent from the titles I would be interested in, such as Watch Dogs). At one point in the conference someone said "Games are changing from a thing you buy to a place you go." As I previously tweeted, with Always-On DRM where you'll go is to the proctologist.
