Name change to generic "Scavenger Hunt" with no deadlines, just a list of topics..

New photos, not archives

Please tag your entries with the topic number and year of entry:
01Scav2024
02Scav2024
etc.

If you are completing a second year with the same topics, please add "Second year Scavenger Hunt" in your description.

As some of the topics are quite hard, a liberal/creative interpretation is welcome.

Re. people photos and written permission.

I also have taken many people photos, including street candids, etc. and have a street photography group, with many candid photos.

Most of these are taken on the basis that if it is a public place, then people photos are permissible. However, I have a personal guideline that they should be in good taste, and preferably a flattering image of the subject, and definitely no nudity.

In the case of my 100 strangers project, I always had permission.

I think privacy and copyright issues are handled differently in every country so everybody should just do what he/ she is comfortable with. As Sami already wrote 2 years ago, it is more restrictive in the European Union so we have to be more careful. But after all, Ipernity isn't such a big and well known platform so that the risk of exposure is smaller;-)

I agree.

If there is any doubt about a specific topic, or entry for that topic, then the photo can be private and only viewable within the group.

Can I butt in here..... Maybe keep certain photos private only to see here on this group to avoid a breach of copywrite

Hi Marj,

Generally, if referring to other people's work, for example, a photograph of a published book, attribution should be given, i.e. a description of the work, or whatever is appropriate.

If you feel uncomfortable with any particular image, regarding attribution or copyright, then, yes, it would be good to have it private only to see here on this group.
