Yes very attractive but the main part of the story is invisible in this photo with my little compact camera. Sitting just the below the peak to the right was a Golden Eagle, we had just watched it glide in from the left. It was a lone bird, the survivor of a pair that were the last known breeding Golden Eagles in England. Today Golden Eagles from southern Scotland occasionally seen flying over but they don’t stay (so far)

Wow! It must have been wonderful just to be able to see it, even if you didn't get a photo. I would have loved to have seen it.

Amazingly beautiful bare landscape, I love this kind of.... and a gentle human cuddling a gentle dog too.
