Moorland Fire update 28/6/18
The wind direction changes in the last 48 hours mean that areas over the hills from us have had the fire moving towards them and the smoke covers a large part of Manchester. Satellite images show the smoke crossing the Irish Sea. Some Army troops now assisting Fire Service, Farmers, Gamekeepers and local volunteers ( Mountain Rescue Teams).
