Resin

Resin
Last year's spruce resin that was foraged from a fallen tree for various things; incense and balm, mainly.

From what I've heard, the tribes in the Finland area also used it as a chewing gum of sorts.

Looks like a map of Chios. Mastic gum is produced there.

I've tried chewing spruce resin 3 times. One time it wasn't bad (not especially good, but not bad either), another time it was too dry and hard, turning to powder when chewed, the other time it was far too wet and sticky. I suspect collecting and storing it just right would make a difference.
