la traduction Deep me comprend pas les subtilités de la langue allemande :-) . Le 2 octobre est la réunification des 2 Allemagnes ( Est et Ouest ). Mais l' unité allemande s' est faite le 18 janvier 1871 dans la galerie des glaces au château de Versailles , suite à la guerre franco-prussienne de 1870 ! de l' histoire ancienne :-)

I don't really know enough to pass comment, except to say that in my opinion a unified Germany has to be better than the alternative!

Puh, da hatte ich ja noch Glück. Auf den ersten Blick, dachte ich schon, es sei 5 vor 12! :-))
Im Ernst, seit der Deutschen Einheit war ich als Wessi viel öfter im Osten als im Westen im Urlaub. Wenn auch manchmal nur kurz für ein paar Tage. Die Wertschätzung des jeweils anderen lässt auf beiden Seiten immer noch zu wünschen übrig. Darauf hier näher einzugehen würde den zeitlichen Rahmen sprengen.

Da gibt es höchstens ein paar kleine Sprachbarrieren; aber sonst...

Auf jeden Fall! Hab' Verwandtschaft im Süden. Da konnte ich schon mal ein "Moin" zur Begrüßung hören. Ein "Grüß Gott" ist im Norden eher selten, aber durchaus auch schon vorgekommen. Ich würde sagen, da geht was. :-))

Und erst die Franken und Bayern? ;-)

A fine idea

A great concept and image, Ulrich. I can't comment on German unification, beyond seeing it as important. That said, down here we have a federation of States and I suspect different perspectives are part of the exercise, it's a matter of working with that.
