Sevanavank Monastery


Armenia, Lake Sevan. Founded in 874AD the monastery sits on a peninsula on this expansive lake, a favoured summer spot for land-locked Armenians. Armenia, as a whole country, converted to Christianity in 301AD, and the Armenian Apostolic Church is still a pillar of this deeply religious society.
It is still used, and is a popular site for worshippers to visit.

Just arrived home after looking at the tunnels the Romans made in this country to mine gold for three hundred years, not yet convinced we, the actual 8 billion team, were the best option from the Gods of yore.
