HFF to you, Diana. Good luck with the full house! The aftermath of the fires will be around for a while, even if the media already forgot ... Dare I ask how the poor burnt koala is doing? That photo is still very much in my mind.

The koala was taken to a rescue centre and treated. I hope it has recovered. About 30,000 died in this Kangaroo Island fire alone. My husband was too busy fighting the fire to check later. We just hope it recovered. My family has been in thick smoke in Canberra for almost 3 months. ...

Glad you have your family with you and that they are safe. I hope this disaster is over for everyone soon. We don't hear to much about it on our news at the moment............even though we're aware that some fires are still raging!

Thanks everyone. The rain has been very helpful. Here at home again, it has been a bit rainy, no fires...
Our family in Canberra has had 3 months of smoke and needed a physical and psychological break from unbreathable air, specially the grandbaby. Thus they are here. They are working in the Adelaide office so we have been child caring! Very tiring at this age!
