Desert flower
Today it struck me that I posted few flower images when I did the big outback trip earlier this year. This little flower was growing on the top of a large sand dune near Birdsville in western Queensland. I think it's a Butterfly bush (Petalostylus labicheoides).

Macro Mondays - light
For Macro Mondays group 11/12/2023, topic #339. "Light sources" .
This is the LED light attached to a headlight (see PiP).
More Docklands benches
Melbourne's Dockland area is now full of modernistic high-rise apartment buildings - very much a matter of taste! While you contemplate your views on them, you could rest on the rather uncomfortable looking benches in the foreground.
Happy Bench Monday, everyone, and have a good week.

Pelicans
Australian pelicans are commonly found across most of the country when water is available. They grow to a typical wingspan of about 2.5 M and an average weight of about 5kg. See also PiP.
Wollongong harbour
Wollongong is the only place in the east of Australia with two lighthouses located in close proximity of each other. It was once a major coal port and the old smaller breakwater light now is National Heritage listed and operated from 1872 to 1974. The newer Wollongong Head light came into operation in 1937 and is the major light for the nearby port of Port Kembla.
Another week gone, so I'll wish everyone a Happy Fence Friday and a great weekend to follow.
All in one
This old 1800s fortification is at Wollongong (harbour in right background) which was once a major coal export port. For now I'll post it to Wall Wednesday, but it also has fences and a bench. :-)
Happy Wall Wednesday, everyone.

Spellling
Seen toward the end of the inland trip earlier this year. It's not often that I see incorrect spelling on signs, but for those with English as a second language, the lower sign should read "vacancy".
