A very informal and colourful line-up, George. As Roger alludes, some residents expect more mail than others. Such a gathering must make life easier for the Postie.

Lines of letter boxes are common along main roads, Neil. When the postie is travelling 50 (or possibly many more) miles from the post office, they don't need to be running down side roads (also possibly many miles long) to deliver one or two letters. So the deal is that everyone on the side road is expected to have a mail box at the junction. Of course, if you expect your main mail to be bills, then the smaller the box the better! :-)

I love all the different mailboxes! Ours are more or less normed and very boring...

Very well done. I think I've said before that here that wouldn't be allowed. The Post Office will not deliver your mail unless it's a regulation box.

A delightful image George and a great idea. A real hotch-potch of styles and all the more attractive for it. My only worry would be for that they might be utilised by wildlife as they are so exposed.
