a corner of the moated manor rebuilt for edward III in 1353, which had a wharf to the river (to the right) and a second courtyard to the south (to the left). the buildings became an english delft pottery factory in 1638.

Ooh, yes. I know this one. Was sitting outside the Angel looking across to it the other week. Edward III's manor house, Rotherhithe. It always amazes me that it's preserved there as there's so little left of it.

that's it, its dock was to the right, beside the river . it was later a factory for early english delft pottery and tiles.

long dreamt of finding a pilgrim badge, but it's always clay pipe stems and oyster shells. never feel the time's wasted somehow; pottery dumps along the estuaries are good fun too.
whilst gilding at the fishmongers the serious boys would turn up about dawn: they left silver scrap and only kept gold, so some people make it pay.
