st.peter cheap or st.peter by the cross was not rebuilt after the great fire, but its site is marked by a small graveyard with 3 or 4 tombstones, a large plane tree, and several large tree ferns doing remarkably well in this hemmed in site. these railings with their lampstand and relief of st.peter were added in 1712, presumably the political clout of retaining parish powers made it worthwhile.
