n.w.doorway of the church built in 1855-6 by e.m. barry. there was a notice about visitors having access on wednesdays as english heritage had funded restoration ; both the day chosen and the tenor of the notice implied that the church saw visitors as an imposition. too many bodies are happy to take public money, but make it difficult for us to look at what we are paying for.
