Dumbarton Bridge and the River Leven

Dumbarton Bridge and the River Leven
Dumbarton Bridge was built in 1765, widened in 1884 and was reconstructed in 1934. A 5-span bridge, with dressed-stone arch rings and rubble spandrels and wing walls, extended in concrete. The arches are segmental, increasing in size to the centre, and there are rounded cutwaters extended up to form circular buttresses, now supporting the concrete extensions. Quoted from the Canmore website.

A fabulous shot Joe! A magnificent bridge. I would love to get a shot like this one.
I have made a note of your settings! Now I just have to find the right river!!
Many thanks for the information, which is always handy.

Thanks for your very kind comment, Rosa, however I don't think my settings would be of any use to anyone else. Cheers, Joe

Thanks for the link Joe. It's more the shutter speed that interests me, with fast flowing water pictures. I have a tripod but never take it with me....I might as well sell it to be honest. LoL.
Cheers, Rosa.

You should use your tripod for this type of shot, Rosa. To blur running water, experiment with shutter speeds from about half a second to two seconds. I look forward to seeing your shots. Cheers, Joe

Lovely light and the bridge is beautiful Joe. A super shot of the water, - it gives a wonderful feeling of movement as if you are standing on the bank and watching it flow. Best wishes Carol
