Between the devil and the deep blue sea
Recent study shows that I seem to be doing something right. Or have I?
In the recent Swedish research it was discovered that drinking filtered coffee, and especially using paper filter, reduces the risk of cardiovascular diseases. Paper filters away kahweol and cafestol, meaning that it reduces the cholesterol intake.
However, I also discovered earlier studies claiming that kahweol and cafestol has some chemo-protective effects. In other words, coffee oils could help preventing cancer.
Which then makes me wonder if kahweol and cafestol are either "bad" or "good" cholesterols?
So, which one is lesser of two evils? Cardiovascular disease or cancer?
UPDATE (few minutes later): I almost immediately discovered yet another research article, where this same dilemma has been presented. So, kahweol and cafestol are "bad" LDL cholesterols. However, they still have also that chemo-protective effect.

Sami Serola (inactiv… club has replied to Xata clubUp north we drink, eat and live badly. Too much heavy drinking (no healthy wines daily, but a twelve back of beer and Koskenkorva once a week), too little vegetables and good cholesterol (butter instead of olive oil), and exposing ourselves to all kinds of carcinogens (e.g. radon gas).
Xata club has replied to Sami Serola (inactiv… clubIn my South the truth is that we can grow fruits and vegetables in a natural way all year round and our wine can be very good for less than 10euros a bottle... the only people who eat junk food is because... they want or too lazy to cook... bacause even in the supermarket you find organic products and not much more expensive than the others...

P.S: Works even on mobile phone.
