EDIT: Bumped up on November 4, 2018 because it just goes so well with Wierd's Bilderdomino move ;-)
Original contribution for The Sunday Challenge: Kitch in September 9, 2017.
"Because modernism has conquered art, kitsch is the savior of talent and devotion.”
~Odd Nerdrum
Soundtrack 'The White Rabbit' by Oxóssi (Jefferson Airplane remix): soundcloud.com/oxossibeats/white-rabbit
After reading various definitions for kitsch, I started to think all art can be seen as kitsch if it brings out any sentiment on the viewer. Or even a thought of a sentiment... =D
Here I used 10 cm tall 'red David' souvenir statue, an illustrative 'spray can' image I found on internet, a local graffiti on the wall close to my home, and a frame I created on PicMonkey. Funny thing is that the spray can image is a logo used by a company that "broadcasts" a mobile drawing app for self made artists, to be used on tablets and mobile phones. A lots of "kitsch" to see and create if you manage to follow that white rabbit... No links provided to avoid too obvious SPAM. But to find and choose that particular spray can image was once again quite a coincidence because as the company slogans promises on their advertising video: "Join the biggest art community!" and "Become the most famous artist!" ;-)
