Oh, I had very ambitious plans for capturing vertical movement, but this was the best I could do. I guess this is technically not panning, but more like "tilting", but in Finnish (and german) we have just one rather good word for this technique. Something like "follow" or "track" in English.

I agree with your assessment concerning not having enough background to properly show the panning effect. That being said, it is still a great image! :-)
