If I were a girl...

...my name would be Saara (Sara, Sarah). My mother got this statue when she was expecting me. Ever since it decorated our mantelpiece and got a name Saara. One family friend once told one should turn it standing against the wall for a change because statues are meant to be seen from all sides. When I grew up, and our childhood home went under hammer in 1990's economical crises, my mother gave this statue to me. Now it decorates our bathroom, and of course she turns around every now and then.
This shot is inspired by The Sunday Challenge "Personal belonging". My technical challenge was to "squeeze" high-key and the low-key photography into same image, but I failed because I just ran out of spotlights. One more lamp would have been needed to remove the shadow from the top of the statue. So, I guess the technical challenge here is selective lighting.
If you like to see how this was made, then see here: www.ipernity.com/doc/serola/34976119
BUT don't, if you want to stick into illusion =P
EDIT: Retrospectively posting this to 'NOT the Sunday Challenge', because this also fits to 'high-key' and 'low-key' challenges had at TSC during May 2015.
