Warsaw Deluge

The results of about 30 minutes of rain at Krakow-Balice. I got off the plane and walked across the tarmac and it was cloudy and hot. Fifteen minutes later when I'd picked up my bag and walked out the front of the airport, it was cold and on either side of the overhead pedestrian bridge was an impenetrable curtain of rain. Near the car rental booths in the garage, guards were keeping people away from the rattling and jiggling manhole covers.

This was about an hour and a half after I landed. I sat stuck here at the exit from the garage for about twenty minutes before security came and guided us around the back way to the other airport exit. The water out there is at least 18 inches (about a half-meter) deep at the low point of the road.
