Yes. I used the manual of my camera phone and pushed it (pulled it?) a little bit to help create the look, though it was almost exactly like that in person.

You are so kind. I don't often make photos that aren't "straight", but this one a used the manual setting on my phone camera to make it just a bit over exposed to give it that dreamlike quality. So glad it pleases you.

As to the bird, I was worried that because it was so small it wouldn't come across well, but I do think it is just bird like enough (really was a bird) to work.

I think we all have individual eyes that bring new things out for each other - I almost never notice the insects of the world around me (as you find so well)! But give me a pattern, I am drawn to those.

I agree. It is all in the high key exposure - I think that is what makes the bird work here - it would be lost with more detail in all those branches.
