Thank you so much. Yes, those fruits are so great. But the names? Sadly I don't know - they are my sister's yard plants. She has an acre of land and an old farmhouse in the middle of our city. She is a great caretaker!

It's that time of the year again and time for wine tasting trip, so it seems. We are going hiking, though, not wine tasting, on our way home - probably Blue Lake or the Heather-Maple Pass Loop. Wine tasting takes second place to hiking!

Well, maybe these might be found on your hikes? They aren't grapes but Porcelain Berry vine and all I know is that they are invasive in Virginia.

In our house, husband goes for wine, I go for hikes - and since we don't like to go our separate ways, we just do a little of each.

I vote for Blue Lake (but only because I doln't know Heather-Maple Pass Loop - maybe it would have interesting colored leaves right now).

These hikes are areas where the larches grow and turn color in autumn. They are at their peak right now.

Don't know the Porcelain Berry but dislike invasive plants though they are everywhere. Our worst are Butter and Eggs and Spotted Knapweed.

english ivy is the one i hate - it kills trees pretty easily.

i have a feeling that the Porcelain Berry might not be as invasive here as it is back east. and also there are sometimes non-invasive version of things, like the white invasive morning glories here have a beautiful bluish purple version that isn't invasive at all.

at least in a photo they aren't too invasive *wink*

thank you. i do like all the areas of this photo (if i do say so myself). my photographer mother always has said that a good image can be cropped almost anyway and still be a good image - a bad one you can crop till the cows come home and it won't ever be good.
