Ja, Christa, in Thailand sieht man die öfters auf Märkten, zum Zeitvertreib und natürlich auch um den Marktstand zu attraktivieren.

WOW! Amazing skill! I am guessing that everything is brushed with lemon juice while carving so it doesn't turn brown. Great capture, poly!

I didn't recognize that, but yes, it would be a good idea.
As I said above one can see such carvings a lot on Asian markets. They do it to make their market stall more attractive and also to spend the waiting time a little more useful. In Europa older ladies use to knit instead :)
