Ich weiss, Poly, ich bin doch fast in die Berge geboren, wenigstens in der Mitte, aber eigentlich sehr hoch bin ich nie gewesen. Am Simplon gibt es keine Gletscher. Und ich bin in Peru gewesen wo es sehr hoch ist, aber auch da keine Gletscher.

Daniela, du müsstest vielleicht wieder mal auf die Nordseite der Alpen kommen. Da gibt es überall Bahnen zum hochfahren; man muss nicht einmal selber gehen ;-)

Und da ist wirklich grad der Abgrund! Da wo sie (sorry, es ist eine sie ;-) ) geht, ist nur eine dünne Stützmauer, und dahinter gehts ziemlich krass runter :)

Spectacular scenery and a potentially precipitous drop into the lake. How wide is the 'path'?

So sad to hear about the disappearing glaciers. I have only seen one glacier, and that was converted into a ski slope unfortunately.

Do you mean the path over the lake? Well, in fact the path is a small dam for the lake and its wide is around 40 to 50 cm.
This glacier you have seen is in Switzerland?

No, it is in Norway, in the Folgefonna National Park As a ski slope it is spectacular. As a glacier it was very disappointing.

As the dam is so narrow, I wouldn't have walked along the top at all; but it provided you with a magical photo. ;-)
