This was among the family albums and loose photos I inherited. I have no idea of its relevance to the family or exactly what is being depicted. The flag might suggest a national or military celebration. Despite the prevalence of boaters, from their clothing, the group appears to be quite mixed in status, possibly a company or works outing.

H.W.Macdonald was a professional photographer. Some of his works are in our National Trust collections, although this one does not appear anywhere else on line.
