Southsea beach east from South Parade Pier 11 7 2019

I wasn't aware of the pier's history. Certainly above the deck it seems in fine shape. All piers seem to have a major job keeping the rust at bay, Brighton, Eastbourne, Hastings and Worthing - they all seem pretty shabby when you look below decks. My favorite of those is Worthing, with its colourful central windbreak made with scores of coloured glass commemorative panels and history boards. It looks like the community has been involved and cares about their pier.
The panoramic setting on my compact is a fairly recent 'discovery'. I only realised that it was there when a grand-daughter was taking panoramas inside Tate Modern with her phone camera. The results sometimes need a bit of tweaking in Photoshop if the perspective is too distorted. This one needed a bit of attention at the far right end.
