Seasonal veg - oval frame - 27.7.2015

Having tried some abstract stuff recently, I thought I would have a go at some still life, inspired by seeing some of the first of our garden vegetables, sitting on the kitchen worktop. I have tried a couple of variations and I am still not sure which I prefer.
Amended to comply with a visitor's wishes!
