Tracks along the edge of the North Downs - 5.3.2015

Tracks along the edge of the North Downs - 5.3.2015
Pruning the branches on the railway side, to reduce leaf fall onto the rails, has produced this nice view. To someone who lives on the coast and sees trees bent over by winds from the sea, these look strange as they are distorted in both directions.

I was taking pictures out of the carriage window, when the train's guard came along checking our tickets. He had been a Royal Navy photographer. He told me that the cab at the back of the diesel train was unlocked - hinting that I could take photos from there. It would have been good if another train came on the other line, but none appeared.
