Drilling rig - Newhaven - 25.11.2010

I never discovered what the rig was to be used for. It was in the period when surveys were being done in preparation for the Rampion Wind Farm, which is to be installed in the English Channel to the west of here. So my guess is that was what it being erected for.
The location is West Bay, Newhaven, which has been declared an official 'village green', which comes with the rights that go with that for the residents. This decision is being challenged by the Port Authority and a Supreme Court decision is expected today!
