Artbox - St Pancras Station - London - 11.4.2013
One of a number of artist decorated phone boxes spread across London in 2012 to celebrate the Olympic Games and the Queen's Jubilee. Sponsored by BT (British Telecomms plc) they were to be sold off after the celebrations to raise funds for Childline, a confidential helpline for children and young people in difficulty or emotional distress or needing impartial advice, run by the NSPCC - the National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children. Given that this was taken in April 2013, I am not sure whether it has been bought and again put on public display or whether the sale had not then taken place. A quick search online has not revealed the artist involved. As far as I know the boxes were decorative, not functional.
Later .... The most extensive coverage of this event I have come across is at www.mandiipope.com/charity-2-this-page-is-under-construction/2012-junejuly-bt-art-box-25th-anniversary-childline
It is so long that I haven't been all the way through it. It may even answer unresolved questions above!
