Flora - 68 Camberwell Road - London S.E.5

These relief plaques were, and may still be, on a very ordinary small commercial or light industrial building in Camberwell.
Terry Cavanagh's 'Public Sculpture of South London' says that these were made of Coade stone, an artificial material. They were formerly on a villa, built in 1779, belonging the Georgian philanthropist Doctor John Coakley Lettsom and were moved to this site, originally a stonemason's workshop, when the villa was demolished. Although these are named as Flora, at the centre, with Liberality on the left and Plenty on the right, they were standard products of Eleanor Coade's company and appear with different titles in different places.
