This was Spring along the sidewalk in the Garden of Surprises - 2016 -
It has changed - not just the seasons, but the ground under the bricks -
Gave way to a hopefully small hole -
Sidewalk (2 sections - 1 that meets the bricks - and one that joins it - )
Are no more -
Ever heard a concrete saw ?
Then a sledge hammer ?
Thomas, our Neighborhood Feline, was nowhere to be seen -
Not one bird was seen or heard from during the demolition -
1 note on Right - starting with when the damaged was seen -
Through to today when 2 sections of the sidewalk turned into chunks of concrete -
Those chunks are in the hole - temporarily, so nobody walks into it -
Oh, the joys of home ownership !
Update : 1 note added to left side -- the repairs were more extensive than originally thought. The sinkhole was 10 feet wide x 4 feet deep.
It has been fixed !
Our sloping yard will drain properly ..
With the drain (small green rectangle in straw ) which diverts water into underground pipes ..
Then on to the City Storm Drain..
