Orange ..

is the color of the day ..
Tawney Day Lily #1 - 2 more blooms ..
Deer Cocktail didn't bother them ..
many more blooms to go ..
** warning mild rant to follow, so you can leave if you want now **
Just a note - I'm not an avid gardener who has to have the correct name for everything -
This is a very casual garden, as am I ..
So, if I put a name on something and it is not correct ..
just keep that in mind.
On another site, dedicated to plants, I asked what could be chewing the buds off the day lily plants and included a photo ..
The members were very helpful about deer possibly the culprit eating the buds ready to bloom ..
One suggested using some hot sauce or sprinkle red pepper on them ..
From that came the "Deer Cocktail" .. soapy water with hot sauce ....
Have done it every other day ..
SO Far .. it is working ..
When this gal bloomed on 30 May, I was thrilled ... she bloomed in spite of deer and being doused with hot sauce~
Posted the photo on the plant site --- one comment, from the administrator, told me " Beautiful shot but technically, that isn't a ditch lily. It's a clump forming hybrid creation. Hemerocallis fulva is the species daylily commonly referred to as a ditch lily as it can be invasive, thus the nick name."
Won't be on that site often ...
