A "first" for here. I have had the Carolina Satyr's but this is a first "Little Wood" . They do no sit still !

This now makes 50 butterfly species in this 2 acres

Andy... its an achievement for me. I have worked hard to make this place butterfly and bird friendly. Its also about training your own brain to "see" not just "look". Photography is a very big tool in that.

I can grow very little here.. it dies in the heat. The False Sunflowers are native 'weeds" and survive and seed themselves from the wilderness around. The Lantana loves the heat... and the Zinnia's cope mostly !

What an excellent capture of this hard-to-see butterfly! Very pretty...I saw a little blue one the other day and followed it around until it landed. Then I stared and admired it before leaving it to rest. Now, had I had my camera with me it would have just giggled evilly in my general direction and left the scene! :D

Amazing to have another new species Pam. This beauty is well camouflaged there and you did well to spot it. I love the markings - the 'eyes' are very striking
