The Turkey 'clean up crew'!

The flock of wild Turkeys is about 30 strong. In the Spring they bring their chicks to feed as well. This day there was about 10-12 of them. Sadly we have too many gung ho hunters in these parts.. but NOT on my land !
EXPLORED !

Pam J club has replied to Malik Raoulda clubPam J club has replied to Don Sutherland clubPam J club has replied to Phill GI dont buy a whole Turkey... its just us 2 as well. I get a small Crown.. and a couple of thighs as we like the dark meat too. I have got Duck before as well. Like Duck !
Pam J club has replied to Ceropegia clubI call them the Clean Up Crew cos they eat the birdseed. I get through about 100 lbs of seed a month(plus squirrel food with corn and nuts .. and I add more black sunflower seed). What isnt eaten from the 13 or so feeders gets scattered.. and that is what the Crows and Turkeys and ground feeders come for..... and the raccoons feed anywhere !
I am permanently broke.. I dont buy fancy clothes and shoes etc... I cant afford to fly Home ! ... Just about all the little spare goes on the wild animals and birds. Its what keeps me nearly sane here !
Pam J club has replied to Shuttering YukonIt never ceases to amaze me how I get on there at all !

Blessings for you and yours too !
I'm no veggie because I like bacon too much, but I would rather have beans on toast than something a majestic as this.
Pam J club has replied to PolyrusI am no veggie either... but I wont have anything on my land hurt. I buy stuff that has been responsibly raised and cared for and has had a decent life. I am not squeamish.. I have killed gutted and plucked much in my life ... !!! BUT... each has to have their "line in the sand" and I have mine.
Well done Pam Regards Tess
Pam J club has replied to Treasa Ui CionaodhaPam J club has replied to Anji. clubWe also have avid hunters and they sneak onto our property to kill turkeys that live here...it makes us completely INSANE when we find the dead carcasses with the trophy feathers cut off and the rest left to rot. *seethe* But I've only seen this happen once, thankfully.
Your picture is marvelous, Pam, love the colors so much!!
