This Cardinal stunned himself flying into a window He recovered
This Cardinal stunned himself flying into a window He recovered ! I was holding him with one hand... trying to hold the camera with the other ! I have arthritis in my hands and it was becoming a farce !

I managed to get a series of photos then placed him carefully but securely in a hedge.. I kept watch and after about 30 minutes he hopped out and was up and away !

I also have suncatchers at the windows that act like decals.. and it has cut down on the bumps considerably !

Sooooooooooooooooooo beautiful!!!! Instant favorite, and what a darling bird. I'm so glad it was able to fly away. We have birds flying into our windows too, even though we have decals to help them recognize the glass, but they almost always survive. Only a couple of fatalities, and they break our hearts, the dear birds. Thanks for this picture, I loved this great story!

Its odd.. even when you know the size and weight .. when you actually HOLD one in your hands.. he seemed BIG !

I was a Falconer for 25 years.. this is tiny and safe compared to a bird of prey !
