But they're better handled by 1950s surrealists than me and my camera, perhaps. I dunno. There seemed to be a LOT of potential for clichés so I didn't take too much here.

In Gibraltar's Botanical Gardens.

The animal grotto in the Gibraltar Botanic Gardens isn't the cruel, small-cage zoo one at first might think; it's actually been created to look after animals discovered by customs whilst being illegally trafficked through the port. The facilities have been put in place almost entirely by volunteers, who continue to develop the place and clearly look after the animals lovingly.

With the power of the 70–300mm, I'd just seen Kim coming towards me and had time to get the camera out, get down, and get a shot before he'd gotten anywhere near and before the moment was gone. I'm still exploring what else this "wildlife" lens can do. This is a significant crop of it because some of the background stuff was a bit distracting. I'm not sure that I'm happy with it yet. The cheekiness of the expression is brilliant, so a really hefty crop might be better... see the next shot in the photostream, or the comments, on this photo's page.
