We pulled off the best bit of non-violent direct action of the convoy, where the Jordanian police tried to prevent us entering Amman. Needing to stop to sleep (and not wanting to miss our meetings in Amman) we blocked two lanes, two hard shoulders, and a central gulley with the whole convoy then moved forward very slowly, making the point that we didn't want to stop (or cause an actual chaotic blockage of the main road) but that we would cause traffic chaos until they caved in and let us move :-) There was excellent calm, discipline, and communication, in spite of it being tense, fast-happening, and difficult to co-ordinate. Up the front I had great fun shouting across to vehicles from other teams, as well as keeping in touch with the rest of our guys on CB.
