Landie in Sahara
|
|
Well, pre-Sahara. The actual Sahara killed my camera!
Just getting around to uploading a few of my pics from a trip to Morocco. My friends Jon and Kate have some amazing pics from the same trip:

My first orange!
|
|
My first orange which I actually picked from its tree, that is!
I have a horrible feeling I'd accidentally wandered into a part of the Royal Palace – which I certainly shouldn't have been in – and that this may have been a treasonable offence. Certainly, shortly afterwards I was chased off by a bunch of kids who chucked oranges at me, but I decided to chuck one back and it turned into a game :)
Just to add to the overall fruitiness of the thing, the camera is sitting on the ground, propped up by – yes, you, guessed it – orange-peel!

I know, I should have moved that hand-cart out of the shot... ;)
It's also squint. But I love the colour.
Ceuta

Africa, viewed from Spain!
This was our night-stop, a fort overlooking the Spanish enclave Ceuta, on the tip of Morocco.
Kate & Jon after some cheekiness...

Landie (on his way to the Sahara) surveys a row of Toyotas in Gibraltar, presumably en route to some kind of UN project in Africa. I've since found that the Toyota dealer on the rock specialises in just that. Their brochure is serious eye-candy.
Incidentally, this Discovery has since been stolen — if you happen to see a 300Tdi that looks as though " www.aidconvoy.net " has been removed from its doors, do please let me know...
Horse, possibly whispering.

|
Just a pretty pony. But he was striking, against the skyline, so I had to stop to say hello.
Build a party
|
|
Dave (on the left) is a bit of a legend. He throws amazing parties. For the millenium, it was decided that his house wasn't going to be big enough, so we built another one in the garden...
The ass is Jason's ;)
There's another one from this day here: www.flickr.com/photos/captain-k/111335048/
Winding gear with colour
|
|
Naughty naughty, a layer filter. I was playing with the different mood between this and the adjacent black & white photo of the same old winding gears. The mono one instantly looks like an ancient archive shot.

Just playing. Compare with the adjacent colour (and coloured!) shot of the same old winding gears. This mono one instantly looks like an ancient archive shot.
For the Tenuous links group: the link being that Aberdeen, where this lives, is the "granite city".
Mhairi in Chandos
|
|
Just a K750i cameraphone shot, but I like the monochrome feel.
Mhairi will probably hate this, but I actually think she looks rather sophisticated ;)
evening

The view from the end of my road. (It's the seafront in Brighton.)
This is entirely natural – no filter and the only Photoshopping was the removal of a scratch – it's a scan from a lab print. The fact that the Porsche is yellow helps a lot ;)
Note too the old West Pier in the background — sadly no longer with us.

I should know better than to leave a film in a camera for months before developing it.
Pentax Super A, 50mm, Agfa 200 print. Oddly this is in fully auto mode with no compensation for the (my) A's natural tendency to underexpose when backlit.

Between Chernihiv and Nizhin, Ukraine. Advertising a garage where hopefully they fix them, rather than just mounting them for display :)
It's a Zap .
What's the Landie up to? It's on a humanitarian aid mission to the Chornobyl area of Ukraine. Check out www.aidconvoy.net .
Incidentally, the Landie has since been stolen — if you happen to see a discovery which looks as though " www.aidconvoy.net " has been removed from its doors, do please let me know...
