Rays of Sunshine

I haven't taken a photo for a couple of weeks so this is one taken at the end of November last year from Port Solent in Hampshire looking across at the walls of Portchester castle. I had just enough time to park the car, take a couple of photos and get back in the car before the rain started again!

I hope you're all having a good start to the new year. I enjoyed my time away catching up with family and now I'm back I'll try and catch up with all of your photos as soon as I can.

A superb picture Keith. I recognise it from my visit in 2021! I love the rays of light and the warm colour over the castle. The darker colours above show us that is was necessary to be close to the car to stay dry ;-))

I would love to see an old castle such as this one in real life. How lovely that the light sky behind the castle makes it stand out. Does anyone still live there? I'm glad you made it into the car before the rain started.

Thanks Eunice........much appreciated. No one lives in the castle nowadays, but it is still used a lot............pre-covid it used to host cricket matches, fairs, markets, jousting tournaments etc., and it is a popular place for families to play and picnic. Hopefully, come the summer it will return to being used to the full.
