Mid-December dandelion

Oddly warm for mid-December, today saw this dandelion looking a bit optimistic.
Our reliable thermometer, the one hidden under the deck, away from stray sun rays (of which there were none), read 16.7 degrees most of the middle of the day.
I saw a few flies of various sorts, equally optimistic.
But the weather will change back to something closer to normal tonight.
And, for those who live in Fahrenheitland, 16.7 is about 62F. Not bad for so close to the end of the year.
