Standing on skim ice

I'm not that much a birder that I refuse to call these seagulls. (And besides, I can't tell them apart, the different seagulls, uhh gulls.)

Mr Mundy's Pond this dull morning. They were walking or at least standing on the skim of ice.

I suppose "Pond gulls" would be fine by me.
