Jan resting in the snow

I spent a couple of days in late 1975 with some friends who lived with
no running water and just a woodstove for heat. Before it got
completely dark one afternoon, we went out to get both water and wood.
On the way back, in the snow, Jan sat down for a little rest. My
camera had no meter, so I was guessing at exposures in that light. I
didn't get it right.

This slide was just black from edge to edge when I picked it up. But
always hopeful about finding *something*, I scanned it anyway. This
is what I pulled from the slide.
