Platanthera cristata (Crested Fringed orchid) habitat

One of my annual trips down to the Francis Marion National Forest in Berkeley County, South Carolina. The target species were Platanthera cristata or Crested Fringed orchid and Platanthera conspicua or Southern White Fringed orchid. I found both of them in fairly good supply, but the Southern White Fringed orchids were just coming into bloom.
Lots of other colorful Summer wildflower species were blooming in the forest and along the forest service roads.
